About the Role:

A supportive primary school in Beddington, CR0 is looking for a committed and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team full-time, starting as soon as possible. This role focuses on providing dedicated support to a Year 3 child with undiagnosed needs, suspected ADHD, and behavioural challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching staff to ensure the child receives the necessary support and encouragement to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

One-on-One Support: Provide individualised support to a Year 3 child with undiagnosed special needs, suspected ADHD, and behavioural issues.
Behavioural Guidance: Implement strategies to manage and support the child's behaviour, helping to create a conducive learning environment.
Educational Assistance: Assist the child with classwork and activities, adapting teaching materials and methods to meet their unique needs.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document the child's progress, providing feedback to teachers and helping to adjust support plans as necessary.
Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement tailored learning plans and interventions.
Encouragement and Motivation: Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the child to encourage engagement and participation in learning activities.
Safety and Well-being: Ensure the child's safety and well-being during school hours, including during breaks and transitions between activities.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience: Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, particularly with children with special needs and behavioural challenges.
Skills: Strong understanding of ADHD and behavioural management techniques, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attributes: Patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Key Stage 2 curriculum and the specific needs of children in this age group.
