Learning Support Assistant

Are you a Learning Support Assistant looking for a new role in Tonbridge?

Magisters Education are working alongside a school who are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work in a KS2 class providing 1:1 support to students with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and/or Speech and Language Difficulties.

The school are dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to children with additional needs. The staff are passionate, highly skilled and committed to ensuring that every child reaches their full potential. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the students on their educational journey. The school is located in Tonbridge. The school caters to students aged 2-19 years and provides a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to meet the needs of each individual child. The school pride themselves on their welcoming and inclusive environment, where every child is valued and supported.

Your Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 support to individual students with additional needs
Supporting the teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students
Developing and implementing individual learning plans for students in collaboration with the teacher and other professionals
Providing pastoral care and emotional support to students as needed
Collaborating with other professionals, including therapists, to ensure that students' needs are met

The ideal candidate will have:

A passion for working with children with additional needs, including those with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and/or Speech and Language Difficulties
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
A patient and caring approach, with the ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
The ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team
A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn new skills and techniques
A Child and Adult enhanced DBS which is on the update service.
