Learning Support Assistant Opportunity

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join its team from September 2026.

This Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. You will support children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing a mixture of classroom assistance, targeted interventions and one-to-one support where required.

The school has a strong commitment to inclusion and provides excellent support for both pupils and staff, making it an ideal environment for an experienced Learning Support Assistant or someone looking to develop a career in education.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Support pupils during whole-class lessons and independent learning
Deliver small-group interventions in literacy and mathematics
Provide one-to-one support for pupils requiring additional guidance
Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence
Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who:

Has experience working with primary-aged children
Is patient, enthusiastic and adaptable
Can build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Has good communication and organisational skills
Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potentialExperience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.
