Learning Support Assistant
The school is a vibrant educational institution in Loughton dedicated to nurturing the potential of every student. They are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team and support students in need.
Role Overview: As Learning Support Assistant, you play a pivotal role in assisting students with their additional needs by providing one-to-one support within lessons or group support. Your resilience and passion will be essential in guiding and supporting students towards positive outcomes. This position is temporary and will be in effect until the end of the academic year.
Responsibilities: Learning Support Assistant
To work with students within the classroom supporting the lecturer
To support students either on a one to one basis or small groups
Encourage students to work towards independence
To assist students with personal care, feeding and administer medication
To ensure safe travel and support during trips
To complete formal termly reviews and keep accurate records regarding students' progress Criteria: Learning Support Assistant
Good standard of education including maths and English GCSE C or equivalent
Experience with supporting young people
Experience working with people with learning difficulties/disabilities and or challenging behaviour
Good Communication skills both written and verbal
