We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join a reputable mainstream secondary school in Brentwood, Essex, on a permanent basis.

Job Description: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within the school. Working closely with teaching staff and external professionals, you will provide individualized support and assistance to students, helping them to access the curriculum, participate in classroom activities, and achieve their full potential. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of students and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, both inside and outside the classroom.
Assist students with their learning activities, including reading, writing, numeracy, and social skills development.
Implement strategies and interventions to support students' individual needs and promote their independence and inclusion.
Support students with personal care and physical needs, as required.
Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support students' progress and attainment.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement, and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents/carers as appropriate.
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in an educational or care setting, is desirable.
A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting the needs of students with SEND.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the individual needs and challenges of students.
A willingness to undergo relevant training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEND.
A commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in education.
