Learning Support Assistant (1:1 SEN Specialist)
Location: Derby, UK
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-Time and Part-Time roles available
Start Date: Immediate

Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant who thrives in a dedicated 1:1 role? We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and skilled LSAs with a proven track record of one-to-one support to join our team in Derby.

In this vital role, you will be matched with an individual student. By providing tailored, dedicated 1:1 assistance, you will ensure they can safely navigate the school, break down barriers to learning, and achieve their full potential. We have both full-time and part-time positions available for an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

* Dedicated 1:1 Support: Provide tailored academic, physical, and emotional support to a specific student throughout their school day.

* Curriculum Adaptation: Modify lesson plans, worksheets, and learning materials into accessible formats (e.g., large print, tactile resources) in real-time.

* Progress Tracking: Work closely with the class teacher, parents, and specialists to monitor, record, and celebrate the student’s milestones.

What We Are Looking For

* Proven Experience: A strong background in working 1:1 with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)—experience with visual impairments is highly desirable.

* Relationship Building: The ability to form a strong, trusting bond with a student while maintaining professional boundaries.

* Proactive Attitude: Excellent initiative, with the ability to anticipate the student's needs and adapt learning materials quickly.

* Resilience & Patience: A calm, encouraging demeanour and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with sensory impairments.

* Compliance: An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to undergo one) is required.

What We Offer

* Impact: The unique reward of seeing the direct, daily impact of your dedicated support on a single student's growth.

* Flexibility: Full-time and part-time paths available to fit your lifestyle.

* Specialist Training: Ongoing professional development, including targeted training in visual impairment support and assistive technology.

* Competitive Package: Excellent rates of pay with an immediate start date.

How to Apply

If you have the 1:1 experience needed to help a student thrive, we want to hear from you. Please submit your CV alongside a brief cover letter detailing your experience in one-to-one SEN support and your current availability (full or part-time)
