Job DescriptionIt's an exciting time to join the AV & Learning Spaces team at Edinburgh Napier University, the #1 Modern University in Scotland We are looking for a Learning Spaces Technician to join our AV & Learning Spaces team. This role is critical to supporting our student, staff and external customers and to delivering an excellent user experience to all. In an ever-changing technological landscape and as a progressive institution, we see our teaching and learning spaces as integral to our success. The AV & Learning Spaces team sits within the Information Services department and provides operational support for a wide variety of IT & AV technologies across the entire University. The role As a Learning Space technician, you will work as part of the AV & Learning Spaces team to install and maintain IT Technology & Audio Visual equipment across the University. This is a hands-on role, supporting staff, students, and visitors in their use of systems ranging from Windows and Apple devices through to complex audio-visual installations. As such this is usually a campus-based position however there is currently an element of home working required as we limit the number of people attending campus. You will also support the use of this technology by our Academic staff and assist in their understanding of how this technology will work when used within the teaching and learning framework. Who we are looking for You will have excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus and must have experience of demonstrating room technologies, video, projection and display equipment, audio systems and control environments. You should have practical experience of working in a customer support environment, providing technical solutions and able to demonstrate the use of the learning technology equipment to a range of stakeholders. · A degree and/or demonstrable equivalent experience · Knowledge and understanding of desktop computers, laptops, printers and software Additionally, applicants will ideally have: · ITIL Foundation · Experience of delivering AV/IT technology within a Higher Education environment Benefits we offer In return, we offer a great working environment where we support ambition, recognise achievement and offer an attractive benefits package.
