Learning Mentor - High Wycombe - Specialist SEN Provision

Support pupils with complex additional needs build communication, confidence, independence and skills for adulthood.

Learning Mentor opportunity in High Wycombe supporting pupils aged 7-19 with complex cognitive, communication, sensory and physical needs within specialist education.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work alongside teaching staff to:

Provide individualised support
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Encourage communication and interaction
Support participation in learning
Reinforce agreed strategies and interventions
Encourage independence and choice
Support pupils with sensory and emotional needs
Assist with physical and practical activities
Help reduce barriers to learning
Contribute to a calm and safe environment
Work consistently with teachers and other professionalsThe setting uses approaches including SCERTS, Intensive Interaction, Attention Autism, Low Arousal, Little Wandle Phonics and Rebound Therapy. Candidates do not need experience in every approach but should be willing to follow established strategies.
