£15-£20 per hour (dependent on experience)

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting a Learning Mentor to support a young man studying a Level 2 Music Performance & Production course within a college setting in Southwark.

The learner has an EHCP for SEMH, alongside diagnoses of Autism and ADHD, and has experienced early childhood trauma. We are seeking a calm, resilient and relationship-focused individual who can provide consistent support and help the learner engage successfully with education.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support within the college environment

*

Build a positive and trusting relationship

*

Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning

*

Use effective de-escalation strategies

*

Advocate for the learner's needs

*

Work alongside college staff and professionals

*

Complete daily logs and records

*

Promote independence, confidence and positive outcomes

Essential Requirements

Experience supporting children or young people

Knowledge of SEMH, Autism and/or ADHD

Trauma-informed approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

*

Enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

*

Right to Work in the UK

Timetable

Monday: 09:00 - 16:15
Tuesday: 11:15 - 16:15
Wednesday: 11:15 - 13:15
Thursday: 12:15 - 15:15
Friday: No timetabled sessions
