Requirements:

Full GMC licence to practice in the UK
Relevant previous experience working in a similar position within Learning Disability Psychiatry
Demonstrated expertise in assessing and managing mental health issues in individuals with learning disabilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and their families
Duties:

Provide specialized psychiatric assessment and treatment to individuals with learning disabilities, including those with complex needs and co-occurring mental health conditions
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessments, therapeutic interventions, and multidisciplinary input
Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure holistic and coordinated care delivery
Offer consultation and support to primary care providers, community agencies, and carers involved in the care of individuals with learning disabilities
Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with learning disabilities, promoting social inclusion, independence, and well-being
Participate in clinical governance activities, including case reviews, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives, to maintain high standards of care and service delivery
