Learner Support Assistant – Primary School

Are you passionate about helping children thrive and reach their full potential?

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Learner Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting children and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning and development.

The Role

As a Learner Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to help pupils get the most out of their school day. Your responsibilities may include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils

Supporting children with additional learning needs/SEND

Helping pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons

Supporting children's social, emotional and academic development

Assisting the class teacher with activities and classroom preparation

Encouraging positive behaviour and building pupils' confidence

Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience working with primary-aged children

Is patient, caring and approachable

Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Is confident supporting children with different learning needs

Can work effectively as part of a school team

Is passionate about helping children develop and succeed

Experience within a school or SEND setting would be beneficial, although we would love to hear from candidates with transferable experience working with children or young people.
