The opportunity
Due to projects ramping up, our client, a large chemical manufacturer based in Widnes are currently searching for a Senior/Lead Maintenance Engineer, who is electrically biased, to join their team on-site. As a Lead/Senior EC&I Engineer, You must be comfortable working with High Voltage equipment.

This is a full-time, permanent role, with normal daytime working hours. You might have to cover the occasional weekend, but these will be few and far between.

The role
As a Lead/Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for reporting to the Technical Manager, as the EC&I Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the Maintenance and Engineering standards across Electrical and Instrumentation technologies deployed on the Widnes manufacturing site.

Renumeration
£50,000 - £60,000 + (negotiable)

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Reporting to the Technical Manager, as the EC&I Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the Maintenance and Engineering standards across Electrical and Instrumentation technologies deployed on the Widnes manufacturing site.
You will also be the Responsible Site Engineer for HV & LV Electrical distribution and sub-distribution, Process Instrumentation, Lighting, Earthing and Lightning Protection, and infrastructure systems.
The main responsibilities are to define the inspection, maintenance, and asset management strategies, ensuring these activities are suitable and sufficient to enhance reliability, compliance, and process & occupational safety performance. Delivering these site and corporate targets will involve partnering with departmental, site, corporate and contract partners as appropriate. It also requires working closely with the Maintenance Planners and Supervisors to ensure that effective maintenance plans are in place.
Additionally, the EC&I Lead Engineer will control assigned projects and maintenance contracts within budgeted performance and in accordance with agreed plans.You will have the following qualifications & experience
You will be an experienced Engineer with recognised Electrical Engineering qualifications to degree level or alternative routes such as a recognised apprenticeship plus relevant experience demonstrating suitably qualified and experienced status.
You will be approachable, with good people skills and a passion for learning. A positive attitude and a commitment to developing self and others are key to this role.
Knowledge of the UK legislative framework for Electrical Systems and relevant technical & SHE standards:
at Work Regulations, BS7671 & 2391 requirements are essential.
EX01-EX06 trained and familiar with requirements of IEC60079 and DSEAR/ATEX 137 directive
and knowledge of Risk Assessment, COSHH and permit to work processes is essential.
User of MS office, & CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System). Experience of SAP S4-Hanna Asset Management an advantage.It’s great if you also have the following
Ideally you will have previous upper tier COMAH experience.
Experience with maintaining, troubleshooting and calibration of process instrumentation.Get in touch now
