This role is known internally as Support Worker; however, it has been advertised externally as Lead Residential Care Worker to better reflect the shift lead responsibilities of the position.

The Service
Sherwood House is a registered care home providing person-centred support to 19 elderly residents who have chosen this home as their place to retire and live happily ever after.
Like them, you will also feel a change of pace thanks to the home’s scenery, as it is situated in the small village of Linby who won Nottinghamshire's "best kept village" award in 2013. A local tale recounts that the humble pancake was invented by the women of Linby to celebrate the defeat of Danish invaders.
The Role
As a Support Worker at Sherwood House, your main responsibility is to help residents live as independently as possible, while respecting their choices and preferences.
Your duties will include:
* Lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support.
* Support with daily living activities, personal care and community engagement.
* Coordinate health, social care and community appointments.
* Promote individuals' independence, choice and wellbeing.
* Administer and record medication in line with agreed procedures.
* Maintain accurate support plans, risk assessments and daily records.
* Liaise with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
* Provide guidance and support to Care Assistants and Support Workers during shifts.
* Ensure a safe, supportive and welcoming home environment.
* Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies and safeguarding concerns.

Working Hours
All successful candidates will be required to work on a rota basis over a 24-hour period, including weekends and bank holidays; a bonus is paid for waking nights. Shift Patterns include: 07:00-15:00, 08:00-13:00, 08:30-12:30, 13:30-21:30, 07:00-14:30, 14:00-21:15, and 21:15- 07:15 waking nights.
We also have bank roles available for candidates who want more flexibility; please note you will need to pick up 1 shift per month to keep your bank contract.

We are seeking a customer-focused, friendly individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality care while keeping our residents’ preferences at the heart of their decisions.
* Previous experience in hospitality or strong customer service skills is highly desirable
* Experience in a care role is also desirable
* Understanding of age-related health needs
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail value

Travelling to Sherwood House
Due to its location, candidates who can drive are highly desirable, as the home is a 7-minute drive from the High Street in Hucknall. Candidates travelling from Mansfield can use the 141 bus service to Nottingham to arrive to project, but this service is not available for colleagues finishing at 9.30pm.
