Lead Recycler / Team Leader

Hours: 40 hours weekly - Working a 4 days on 2 days off rota over 7 days

Location: South London Partnership

Pay: £31.000 dependent on hrs and Rota.

What you'll be doing;

You will be responsible for leading a Team to look after one of our six HRRC sites.

Informing the public of the types of materials that can be recycled and advising them of which waste streams may be deposited and directing them to the appropriate skips/containers

Ensure that members of the public fully utilise the recycling facilities on the site in accordance with the Company's recycling policy and the requirements of the HWRC Contract

Promote the use of recycling available on the site by advising and informing the public of the facilities available. Advise the public to separate their recyclable materials prior to their future returns to site

Assist members of the public, upon request, to deposit their household recyclable materials and waste

To adhere to Rota's provided for site tasks

To organise the supply of equipment and other materials needed for daily duties in the absence of the site supervisor

To carry out daily site inspections ensuring that the site remains safe and clean at all times

Prevent the disposal of any non-household and commercial waste and the completion of appropriate documentation in relation to suspect trade and commercial vehicles

Complete, where appropriate, the "Household Waste Declaration Form" (Honesty Form)

Prevent the deposit of unauthorised or special and/or hazardous waste and where appropriate to isolate the waste in the appropriate storage container.

Operate the height restriction barrier. (Where applicable) and manage access to the HRRC

Inspect and anticipate the levels of all recycling and other waste containers on a regular basis and notify the appropriate collection service and/or 360 driver.

Complete "skip count" daily at designated time and report to the Transport Office.

Prevent unauthorised persons from sorting over and disturbing deposited refuse and requesting such persons to leave the site. Inform the Area manager or the Operations Management or the police where further assistance or action may be required.

Remove any fly tipped waste from outside of the site gates and fence line

Operating site plant (including compaction equipment where appropriate) with due regard to the health and safety of yourself and other site users.

Perform routine daily inspections on plant, tools and equipment and reporting any defects

What we're looking for;

Essential:

Previous Team Leader experience

Good organisational Skills

Working with the Public

Desirable:

Yellow Plant Driver - Training will be provided to the right candidate

Previous Recycling/ Waste experience
