- Hourly rate £30/35 per hour

Our Global Automotive customer is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering, BIW Delivery Team. This team is responsible for developing, introducing, and launching all new and modified processes and facilities for new model introductions and model year changes within the Bodyshop assembly facility.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Plan, develop, and implement BIW assembly processes and facilities to meet Safety, Quality, Timing, and Cost objectives.

* Provide feasibility statements for product development designs to meet manufacturing build requirements.

* Ensure robust process quality planning, including virtual build simulations and PFMEAs.

* Support physical builds at workshop, pilot build, and manufacturing plant locations, managing issues as they arise.

* Prepare, issue, and evaluate supplier “Request for Quotations.”

* Lead new model planning by developing process estimates for study requests.

* Manage technical issues, offering guidance to the team and escalating when necessary.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

* Effective planning and implementation of BIW assembly processes.

* Accurate and timely feasibility statements.

* Robust process quality planning.

* Successful support and management of physical builds.

* Efficient preparation and evaluation of supplier quotations.

* Accurate process estimates for new model planning.

* Effective management and resolution of technical issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

* Proven experience in delivering and launching BIW assembly line facilities.

* Strong complex problem-solving skills, including investigating quality issues, managing manual station over cycles, and effective reporting and stakeholder management.

* Project management experience in delivering new or modified equipment into a production facility.

* Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above, preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or Mech/Elec combined) or suitable engineering experience in BIW manufacturing.

* Proficient computer skills, conversant with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Catia
