An opportunity to become part of the Mechanical Future Concepts team, as a Mechanical Design Engineer working within the Research and Development team.

Salary: Circa £ 55,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Task dependant but expected to be circa. 3 days per week on-site

Security Clearance: British Citizen

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

An opportunity to join the Mechanical Future Concepts Team, working on Research and Development projects to enhance MBDA's Mechanical technologies and Capabilities required to meet the challenges presented by Future Products.

You will be working on a wide variety of topics and be exposed to a broad range of Mechanical Engineering disciplines.

You will have the opportunity to propose ideas for future research topics and obtain funding to develop these ideas through focused projects, with the option to collaborate with SME's and Academia.

You will have the potential to work on multi-national projects with the associated international travel.

What we're looking for from you:
Ideally Degree/HND/HNC Qualified plus experience in Mechanical Design, particularly in research and development, and ideally a track record of inserting technology into products
Capable of managing work packages, rapid development activities and autonomous working.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across the business.
You will have a willing, helpful attitude and a calm professional manner, able to set priorities and deal with multiple issues.
Ideally experience of technology development and experience of collaborating with SME's and Academia.
An understanding of the Structural and Thermal considerations of Mechanical Design
Experience of composite design would also be advantageous
