Rate: £44.30/hr Umbrella – inside IR35

Contract Position based at Solihull

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced multiskilled and well-rounded Engineer, with broad knowledge of logistic engineering concepts, systems, equipment and facilities used and on the market, combined with knowledge and experience of supporting the development and costing of proposals, right through to delivery and final project completion.

This is initially a short term role to define the requirements and specifications of Logistics Infrastructure and equipment to support some key strategic projects. It will be a lead role, delivering and using the support of vendors to help create budgets and achievable timelines, to meet the needs of the programmes.

These works can include all aspects of Infrastructure and logistic engineering solutions from concept to delivery, including Logistics equipment, Civils, Structural, mechanical designs / electrical & service installations and general building fitout where these are specific to Logistics, supporting the Infrastructure and other delivery teams.

These will require elements of finance justification and once approved you will lead the end result through to delivery, where relevant. Thus, you will need to be proactive in your approach and develop relationships with a number of internal and external stakeholders to drive the end result.

This is a highly demanding role with green field opportunities providing opportunities for international travel and a sense of autonomy and control over your work.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Previous experience and strong background of engineering delivery works from conception through to delivery and completion is essential.
Experience in contractor management and site installations, to deliver benchmark Site Safety performance.
Clear understanding of site safety, Safety legislation (CDM 2015 Reg etc.) and that of contractor management.
Broad knowledge of logistic engineering concepts and systems used and on the market.
Excellent knowledge of logistic engineering methods, materials and skills effecting (fit for purpose)
Excellent organisational and project management skills
Proven experience in leading and managing teams to deliver against tight timescales and budgets.
Knowledge and experience of supporting the development and costing of proposals, right through to delivery and final project completion.
Education

Relevant Degree or equivalent experience preferred (but not essential) in Infrastructure, Plant, Electrical or Mechanical disciplines / industry.
