Lead Electrician - Installation
Hampshire, working throughout the UK and occasionally overseas
Up to £47,000 DOE, plus door-to-door travel, overtime rates, company vehicle and mobile phone
If you’re a time-served installation electrician ready to lead your own sites, this is the step up. Our client is a well-established Hampshire building services contractor, trusted by defence, commercial and industrial clients. The work is varied and demanding, and the business is growing.
This is an installation role, not maintenance or service. As Lead Electrician, you will take charge of electrical installations from planning through to testing and certification. You will brief and guide junior labour, work closely with project managers and clients, and be the person people rely on to get it right.
What you’ll be doing
* Installing LV electrical systems and electrical control systems in commercial, industrial and MOD buildings
* Reading building plans and specifications to plan the layout of electrical systems
* Carrying out electrical testing and certification, including NICEIC certificates, on time
* Organising the electrical team on site and briefing them on the installation and all H&S requirements
* Preparing materials lists and supply orders
* Passing information to project managers for project costings
* Assisting with site surveys, and supporting quotes, tenders and enquiries
* Making sure all work meets the relevant codes of practice, manufacturer requirements and environmental standards
* Helping the mechanical team when needed
What you’ll need
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services
* A completed apprenticeship certificate
* AM2
* A valid ECS grade card
* Test & Inspect qualification to Level 3
* The ability to achieve SC clearance (support is given with the process)
* A full UK driving licence
* Good communication skills and a positive, professional approach
