Lead EC&I Maintenance Engineer

Salary: in the region of £70,000 per annum plus up to 20% bonus, company car or allowance enhanced pension and other Veolis benefits

Location: Ellesmere Port, CH65 4EQ

What you'll be doing:

To ensure the safe, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective management of electrical, control, and instrumentation assets and associated resources

Deputise for the Head of Engineering or Maintenance Manager where required, supporting wider engineering leadership and operational decision-making.

Permit-to-Work, isolations, RAMS, contractor control, and safe systems of work.

Management of Change, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, RCA, or FMECA activities.

Contributing to budget planning, lifecycle planning(15yr) asset replacement, and long-term EC&I reliability improvements

Ensuring all ATEX/DSEAR requirements and hazardous area equipment are maintained

Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of EC&I personnel to maintain capability, resilience, and succession within the department

What we're looking for:

Essential:

HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, or a relevant engineering discipline and Significant experience.

IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.

Proven experience leading, managing and developing EC&I teams, including technicians, engineers, apprentices.

COMAH awareness and experience working within high-hazard or highly regulated environments.

Management of CMMS systems, including work order management, asset records, maintenance plans, backlog control, and critical spares.

Experience acting as an Electrical Duty Holder, Authorised Person or equivalent site electrical authority.

Experience managing contractors, OEMs, specialist suppliers, and third-party technical support providers

Desirable:

High Voltage awareness or experience managing HV systems and contractors..

Experience acting as system custodian or technical owner for site control systems.

Experience managing obsolescence, critical spares, lifecycle replacement, and EC&I asset strategy.
