Blue Arrow Derby is excited to be working with a prominent UK network to help deliver maximum potential growth for their independent Estate and Letting Agents as they seek a Lead Designer on a fixed term contract for 6-9 months (maternity cover).

About the Lead Designer (FTC) role

Hours: Mon-Fri (9:00am - 5:30pm)

Location: Remote - Work from home but will need travel to Kettering or Central London offices once a week. Candidates will therefore live locally or within a reasonable distance commute.

The company is looking for a Lead Designer (FTC - Mat Cover) to help ensure and maintain the quality and creativity of their design products whilst managing an experienced design team. Your primary duties and responsibilities will be to oversee the work of the entire design team on a variety of exciting projects whilst leading the way in research and creativity.

What duties will be involved in the Lead Designer role?

As a Lead Designer, you will be responsible for the following:

Provide the team with creative ideas and input for new designs.
Assess new design ideas and concepts.
Supervise all necessary design modifications.
Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure accurate implementation of essential design specifications.
Maintain brand consistency across all marketing projects.
Generate design concepts quickly based on marketing briefs and adhere to all deadlines.
Develop design prototypes, features, and specifications based on consumer insights.
Present design recommendations, proposals, and choices to stakeholders.
Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and enhance design development.
Research and Analysis
Explore design trends and guide the design team in strategic planning and execution.
Communicate research concepts, ideas, and findings to the entire design and marketing team for seamless information flow.
Stay updated on the latest design technology and strategies, leveraging them for the company's advantage.
Networking
Establish strong connections with key stakeholders.
Represent the company at events and conferences.
Management Activities
Foster an atmosphere of innovation and creativity within the design team to encourage a continuous influx of new ideas.
Motivate, guide, and empower the team to become industry experts.
Lead by example, demonstrating the skills the team should aspire to and learn from.
Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to excel in their roles.
Cultivate a culture of teamwork and mutual support.

What will you bring to the Lead Designer role?

A degree in design or a related field is necessary.
A robust design portfolio that demonstrates creativity and proficiency in corporate design.
Extensive experience in leading digital design teams in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficient in various design processes with prior management experience.
Proficient in using different design software.
Strong analytical abilities and a data-driven mindset.
Knowledgeable about current design trends and best practices.
