Description:

Lead Data Scientist | Fully Remote | £90,000–£100,000 + Benefits

Build the models behind real-time decision making at scale.

Why this role stands out

This isn’t just another senior data science position. It’s a chance to shape the future of analytics in one of the UK’s most successful privately owned technology businesses, a market leader trusted by millions and driven by data at its core.

You’ll join a high-performing team working with real-time data, advanced machine learning, and large-scale analytical systems, with the freedom to influence both technical direction and best practice across the function.

What you’ll be doing

As Lead Data Scientist, you’ll combine deep technical work with strategic leadership:

Design and deploy predictive models and ML solutions that power real-time markets.
Work hands on with cutting-edge datasets, AI techniques, and scalable data pipelines.
Identify patterns and insights that directly influence live business decisions.
Collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and platform teams to optimise performance and reliability.
Drive best practice, mentor / coach across the Data Science function.

This is a role where your ideas won’t sit in a backlog for months.. They will have a visible impact in real time.

About you

You’re an experienced data scientist who enjoys solving complex problems and helping others grow.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Proven experience in a Senior or Lead Data Scientist role (preferably in sports, gaming or similar).
A track record of mentoring teams and leading technical projects.
A degree (BSc/MSc) in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience using frameworks such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
Experience with cloud platforms or distributed computing (GCP preferred, but AWS or Azure also welcome).
Exposure to neural networks (a plus, not a must).
A genuine interest in sports and data-driven decision making.

What you’ll get in return

Fully remote working with flexibility built in.
£90,000–£100,000 salary plus additional benefits.
Access to huge, high-quality datasets and modern ML tooling.
The chance to work on intellectually challenging problems every day.
Real influence over large-scale analytical systems and strategy.
Clear opportunities for career growth within an expanding Data Science function.

If you’re passionate about analytics, machine learning, and building systems in real time, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
