Laundry Assistant
Hours: 37 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm
Location: Inverness
Pay rate: £11.90 per hour
A Basic Disclosure issued in the last 12 months is required for this role
Our public sector client based in Inverness require a number of Laundry Assistants for an immediate start on a temporary basis.
Main Purpose of the role:
Staff members will be required to work in various operations throughout the laundry process, and to achieve production targets.
Main Duties:
Categorising dirty linen received from NHS hospitals
Feeding work to and unloading work from industrial ironing and folding equipment
Packing & folding linen items
Cleaning equipment and laundry in general
Pushing & pulling cages of linenKey Skills:
Effective verbal communication skills
Ability to work with others as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
Physically demanding job. Constantly standing, bending, lifting and twisting for the full working day
Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet delivery
Working in varying temperatures throughout the laundry
Previous experience of laundry work would be beneficial however not a prerequisite as training will be given
Working knowledge of basic information technology
