TeacherActive is currently working with a prestigious educational institution in Colchester which is dedicated to providing a comprehensive and high-quality education to students of all backgrounds. The school fosters an environment where students are encouraged to explore classical languages and cultures, enriching their academic experience and broadening their intellectual horizons.

Our school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Latin Teacher to join their team on a daily cover basis up until the end of this academic year with the hopes of the successful candidate then joining the team permanently from September onwards. The successful candidate will have a strong enthusiasm for teaching Latin, a deep understanding of classical languages and literature, and the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality Latin lessons that promote linguistic proficiency, historical awareness, and a love for classical studies.
Create an inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for ancient cultures.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and personal development.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall improvement of the classics department.
Actively participate in classics-related extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider school community.
Qualifications:

A relevant degree in Classics, Latin, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Demonstrated experience in teaching Latin at the secondary school level.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay current with educational best practices.
