Late Shift Transport Planner - starting at £29,500 - £30,562 after a successful probation period
Tonbridge | Permanent | Full-time or Part-time
Full-time: Monday–Friday, 5:30pm–1:30am
Part-time: Monday–Friday, 5:30pm–9:30pm
Are you organised, calm under pressure and good at keeping things moving when plans change?
PVC Building Supplies Ltd is looking for a Late Shift Transport Planner to join its busy Operations team in Tonbridge.
You’ll help plan and adjust delivery routes, support drivers and make sure the late shift runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
The role
Using MaxOptra route-planning software, you’ll organise and optimise delivery routes throughout the shift, responding quickly to delays, changes and operational issues.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Planning and adjusting delivery routes
* Coordinating with drivers and dispatch teams
* Resolving route issues and minimising disruption
* Keeping routing information and records accurate
* Monitoring route performance and identifying improvements
* Communicating changes clearly to drivers and colleagues
* Supporting wider transport and delivery operations
* Assisting with picking, packing and loading vans when required
The person
You’ll need to be:
* Highly organised with good planning and time-management skills
* Accurate and detail focused
* Confident making decisions and solving problems
* A clear and professional communicator
* Comfortable using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
* Able to learn new software quickly
* Comfortable working independently and using your initiative
* Able to stay calm and accurate during busy shifts
* Aware of warehouse and operational health and safety requirements
* Previous experience in logistics, transport, dispatch or route planning would be useful, but it is not essential.
* Experience with MaxOptra, transport management systems or warehouse systems would also be an advantage.
