The MAS Business Operations Group is looking for a driven leader to undertake a fulfilling role as the Capability Manager. Utilising your leadership skills and experience of capability management, you will be an integral part of the organisation, ensuring focus on delivery and customer engagement.

The successful candidate will work closely with the technical capability areas within Materials and Analytical Science to ensure effective communication of service capability health and of delivery. They will work as part of the Business Operations group to provide proactive management of technical capabilities, working to highlight and mitigate risks for the Materials and Analytical Science area. The role requires routine engagement with both internal Science and external Programme/Tech Centre stakeholders.

What will you be responsible for?

Providing support and governance across Materials and Analytical Science, ensuring consistency & compliance to business rhythm

Ensuring the production of key metrics and reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency across Materials and Analytical Science.

Providing appropriate consolidated views for each reporting level and accompanying narrative

Providing input data and contextual understanding of current capabilities into sub-functional governance meetings.

Coordination of the local functional health statement activities.

Providing support to Science Level delivery and capability management activities.

Liaising with stakeholders across the business, including Heads of Science, Science Service Delivery leads, capability sponsors, Science Resource Manager and Programme Project Managers to understand requirements and inform effective decisions

Maintaining and promoting high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player

Scoping, leading and delivering multi-functional and focussed tasks

The conversion of business data into required management information and high-level reporting

Proven track record of delivering with success and overcoming complex challenges

Proficient data analysis and adaptable communication methods to reach and engage across the organisation

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Products

Experience of successfully managing high performing and motivated teams

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and able to communicate information in a clear and concise manner

Competence in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role
