Day shift:

Monday to Thursday: 10:00am – 6:00pm

Friday: 10:00am – 5:00pm

The Business

Westray Recruitment Group is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established North East manufacturing business. Our client is a recognised leader within their industry, supplying high-quality engineered products to customers across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Labourer/FLT Operative to join their Production Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience who is looking to join a busy production environment offering long-term career prospects.

The Role

As a Labourer/FLT Operative within the Production Department, you will play a key role in supporting the production process and ensuring products are prepared, handled and dispatched safely and efficiently.

Your duties will include:

Assisting with the preparation and movement of products through the coating process.

Loading, unloading and transporting materials using a Fork Lift Truck.

Packing finished products to the required standard, ensuring they are protected for storage and transportation.

Preparing customer orders for dispatch, including checking quantities, labelling and ensuring accuracy.

Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Supporting colleagues across the production team to meet operational requirements.

Following all health & safety procedures and maintaining high quality standards at all times.

The Person

The successful candidate will ideally have:

A valid FLT licence (essential) – inhouse and expired are also accepted

An Overhead Crane Certificate – beneficial but no essential

Previous experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to a busy production environment.

A strong awareness of health and safety within an industrial setting.
