GSL Education Kent is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Tunbridge Wells. We are looking for someone enthusiastic about Science and committed to providing high-quality support to our school's Science department. As a full-time Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school laboratories and assisting students in their scientific experiments and studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Equipment and Materials: Set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons and experiments.
- Maintain Laboratories: Ensure that laboratories are clean, safe, and well-organised.
- Support Lessons: Assist teachers and students during practical science lessons, providing technical support and guidance.
- Manage Inventory: Maintain and manage an inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly stored and readily available.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for students and staff.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance for science projects and experiments, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Science Background: A relevant qualification in a science-related field, such as a degree or diploma.
- Laboratory Experience: Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably within an educational environment.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety practises in a laboratory environment.
