Laboratory Technician
* Location: Rye
* Salary: £21,000 - £25,000 + bonus
* Monday – Friday (7am-3:30pm or 8:30am-5pm)

As the Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient operation of all activities in the laboratory including health & safety and quality.
Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician also include:
* Perform routine and non-routine quality control analysis and interpretation.
* Sign off and dispatch materials to customers.
* Authorise the receipt of loads onto site.
* Perform data entry and filing of reports to ensure that accurate analytical data is presented in the correct format and in a timely fashion to all relevant parties.
* Carry out safety critical tasks / analysis required as per procedure dictates.
* Perform calibrations and QC checks of lab equipment.
* Ensure that non-conforming materials are communicated effectively.
* Undertake project work to improve laboratory and plant processes.
* Make relevant continuous improvement suggestions to supervisors / management and monitor equipment performance.
To be considered for the Laboratory Technician role you should be either keen and eager to learn or come from a chemistry/chemical background. You should also have:
* Good understanding of analytical chemistry such as GC, GCMS, IC, XRF, Titrations, etc.
* Knowledge of distillation.
* Computer literate including Microsoft Word & Excel.
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
* Degree in Chemistry, Science, or similar (desirable).
* Experience using SAP (desirable).
