Description:
Working within the electrode manufacturing team, the Laboratory Technician will support the development of next-generation battery materials through laboratory testing, sample preparation and process development activities. This hands-on role will involve working across a range of manufacturing scales, from laboratory experiments through to pilot-scale coating processes, helping to generate the data and insights needed to support ongoing product development.
The Laboratory Technician will:
Prepare electrode slurries, coatings and samples for testing and evaluation.
Support electrode manufacturing trials across laboratory and pilot-scale processes.
Conduct routine testing, characterisation and data analysis activities.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
Prepare and present experimental results to engineering and technical teams.
Develop and maintain laboratory documentation, including SOPs, COSHH assessments and Risk Assessments.
Manage laboratory consumables and support general laboratory organisation.
Collaborate with materials, cell development and engineering teams on research activities.
The Laboratory Technician will have:
A degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
Experience working within a scientific or laboratory environment, gained through industry experience, placements or internships.
Practical laboratory experience, including safe handling of chemicals and operation of laboratory equipment.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
The ability to analyse and interpret experimental data.
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced R&D environment.
