Lab Technician

My client is a market-leading food / FMCG business based near Kettering. Due to ongoing growth they are on the lookout for a Lab Technician to join their impressive technical team.
The main objective of this role is to systematically and, according to fixed procedures, execute controls on raw materials, on semi-finished products, on the process and on finished products to detect non-conformities.
Typical responsibilities include –
Perform quality controls according to fixed methods and procedures:
* Take samples in production area
* Quality and Food Safety Procedures and Instructions to be followed
* Prepare samples in the lab
* Prepare the necessary reagents
* Perform standard analyses while observing the fixed working methods , sometimes using complex automated analysis instruments – Protein, dry matters, calcium, pH, sediment, rest peroxide
* Compare the results with the fixed norms
* Water Analysis
* Packaging checks
* Process the analysis results (in SAP or Excel , report these results and non-conformities to the QC-Manager.
* Positively release finished products
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Lab Technician / Microbiologist / QA Microbiologist with a proven background in the food, drink or FMCG sectors with sound laboratory techniques and physico-chemical analyses
