KS2 Teaching Assistant – Flexible Supply Work

Location: Leeds and surrounding areas
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Flexible Supply / Day-to-Day / Short-Term Cover / Potential Long-Term
Key Stage: KS2
Pay: 90 - 110 dependent on experience

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work across Leeds this September?

We are recruiting KS2 Teaching Assistants to join our growing supply team, supporting a large network of primary schools across Leeds and the surrounding areas.

Rather than being tied to one school, you'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of welcoming primary settings, supporting pupils and teachers throughout Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Whether you're looking for regular work throughout the week, a couple of days to fit around other commitments, or the flexibility of day-to-day supply, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with their learning across the KS2 curriculum

Work alongside class teachers to deliver engaging and effective lessons

Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required

Help pupils remain engaged, focused and confident in their learning

Support positive behaviour and maintain a calm, inclusive classroom environment

Adapt confidently to different schools, year groups and classroom routines

Assist with classroom preparation, activities and resources

Help ensure pupils receive consistent support throughout the school day

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with Teaching Assistants who:

Have experience working with children, ideally within a KS2 or primary school setting

Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or have suitable classroom experience

Have strong communication and behaviour management skills

Are enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable

Can quickly build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and school staff

Are confident supporting pupils with varying abilities and learning needs

Are passionate about helping children achieve their full potential

Experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates looking to gain further classroom experience and candidates with relevant education or childcare backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Why Join Our Leeds Supply Team?

With a large pool of primary schools requiring additional classroom support from September, we can offer opportunities to suit a range of availability, experience and preferences.

You'll benefit from:

Flexible work to fit around your availability

Opportunities across a wide range of Leeds primary schools

Day-to-day, short-term and potentially longer-term assignments

Experience working across different KS2 year groups

The chance to experience different schools before committing to a permanent role

Regular opportunities throughout the academic year

Support in finding placements that suit your experience and preferences
