KS1 Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with experience working with children at primary school level (preferably EYFS or KS1)?

Perhaps you are a recent graduate looking for valuable experience working as a teaching assistant before embarking on a teaching career?

A well led and supportive primary school located in Redbridge, London are seeking a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join them from September 2026 on a full time basis till at least July 2027. This role will be working across Year 1 & Year 2 (KS1) to help raise attainment and support the class teachers across the year groups as well as support mild SEN.

* Long term contract till at least July 2026
* £92-£120 per day (weekly pay of £460- £600)

This Teaching Assistant role in Redbridge, London involves supporting teachers in creating a positive and effective environment for children in Year 1 and Year 2 (KS1). This includes assisting with classroom preparation, delivering targeted support to children with their reading, writing and maths as well as fostering positive behaviour and social, emotional develop.

This role will entail working in the classroom and completing small group interventions outside of the classroom. There might also be an element of 1:1 working with particular children who need additional support in their learning.

A KS1 Teaching Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the holistic development of young learners, helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

KS1 Teaching Assistant Criteria:

Either a 2:1 or above degree or Level 2/ 3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching & Learning
A*-C / 6-9 in GCSE English and Maths
Experience working with children either in schools or in another capacity
Passion and enthusiasm
