Year 1/2 Teacher - Bolton
Are you an enthusiastic and committed teacher looking to make a strong impact in a KS1 setting?
On behalf of our client school, we are delighted to offer a fantastic full-time opportunity to support the progress and attainment of pupils in a mixed Year 1/2 class at a welcoming primary school in Bolton. This role will commence in September 2026 and run for the full academic year, with potential for a longer-term or permanent position for the right candidate.
The school welcomes applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers, particularly those with prior KS1 experience and a passion for early learning.

The Role - Year 1/2 Teacher
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a mixed ability Year 1/2 class of approximately 30 pupils. You will be supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant and will play a key role in planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons across the curriculum.
Key Teaching and Learning Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum
Support pupils' development in phonics, early reading, writing, and maths
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support behaviour and engagement
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
Monitor and assess pupil progress, identifying gaps and adapting teaching accordingly
Deliver targeted interventions to support attainment in literacy and numeracy
Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing best practice and resources
Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities where appropriateEssential Requirements:
QTS (or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
Recent experience teaching within KS1 (Year 1 or Year 2 desirable)
Strong references covering recent teaching experience
A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history (with any gaps explained)
The right to work in the UK
Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
