Looking for SEND teaching assistant jobs in Worcester? Distinction Education is recruiting a KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 autism support at an excellent primary school.
This Learning Support Assistant role will suit someone who takes time to understand a child’s individual strengths, communication preferences and support needs.
???? The role
Provide consistent 1:1 support during lessons and school routines.
Help the child access activities and participate alongside their peers.
Use agreed strategies to support communication, transitions and emotional regulation.
Adapt resources and activities under the class teacher’s guidance.
Encourage confidence and independence.
Work closely with the teacher and SENCo, sharing observations and following support plans.
???? About you
You will bring a calm, patient approach and experience supporting autistic children or children with SEND. Experience in Reception, Year 1 or another KS1 setting would be particularly relevant.
We are looking for someone who recognises that effective support is individual, responsive and built on positive relationships.
