Knife Skills Specialist

Location: Barking
Salary: £11.40-£13.00
Hours: 40 hours
Shift pattern: 5 over 7 (Including Sunday working)

We are looking for a skilled and experienced knife production operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in knife production, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products to customer specific requirements and measurements .

Accountabilities

Ensuring the quality and consistency of vegetable cuts are met to meet culinary standards and customer presentation requirements.
Monitor the freshness and quality of produce, discarding any spoiled or damaged produce.
Cut, Peel, Dice, Chop, and slice vegetables according to specified requirements of customers.
Maintain the pace and standards of performance within the Production Department
Assisting in general food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, and portioning vegetables
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control to meet customer expectations.
Monitor and adjust processing equipment to maintain optimal performance and production output.
Follow Instructions from Production supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and to meet completion of tasks in line with customer orders.
Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures including proper handling of food and equipment within the production environment.
Assist in minimising and monitoring specific areas of waste, maximising service, productivity and always providing availability of products.
Maintain good housekeeping of your work area by applying the Company ‘Clean as you go’ policy at all times.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

To be successful in your application for the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:

Experience within a Production environment
Knife skill set experience including Cutting, Peeling, Dicing, Chopping, and slice to required measurements
Food Hygiene Certificate / Handling fresh chilled produce
Knowledge of products similar to Davin Foods product range
Basic Numeracy and literacy skills
Flexible team player
High levels of accuracy
Attention to detail
Manual Handling
