KITCHEN PORTER
Hours: Variable, to include weekends and evenings – working 5 in 7 days per week
Salary: £11.44 per hour (C. A £22k per annum) + Benefits
JOB PURPOSE
To undertake kitchen duties and assist with the movement of stock around site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* To undertake general kitchen duties as and when required, for example, dishwashing.
* Ensure all customers receive clean tableware.
* To adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations
* To ensure all kitchen areas are clear of debris and conform to Health and Safety regulations.
* Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery.
* Unload food and equipment deliveries.
* Keep the storeroom organised.
* Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised.
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
To always maintain a clean and tidy workplace in compliance with current Food Safety and Health & Safety Laws.
To adhere to rules and best practise of Hygiene, Health and Safety at all times to ensure full compliance with all relevant current legislation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
An understanding of Health and Safety in kitchens; how to avoid cross-contamination and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
An understanding of the importance of the Kitchen Porter role and an urgency to complete tasks on time.
Experience with basic food preparation.
This role can be physically demanding and may involve long hours.
Experience is not essential as full training will be given but you must have the desire to offer the highest standards in customer service.
Must have or be willing to complete within the first 6 months, a basic hygiene certificate.
MUST BE ABLE TO USE OWN TRANSPORT DUE TO LOCATION (NO BUSES)
