Kitchen Manager - School Catering
Location: Hull
Contract: Fixed Term until November 2027
Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am-3pm
Salary: £16.16 per hour (PAYE)
Term Time Only: 39 weeks per year + 5.6 weeks paid holiday
Our client is looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee a busy school catering operation in Hull.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong catering and team management experience looking for a stable, term-time position with sociable Monday to Friday hours.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring a high-quality catering service is delivered while managing and motivating the team.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing and supporting the catering team
Ensuring menus, recipes and presentation standards are followed
Maintaining excellent food quality and customer service
Liaising with clients and gathering feedback
Managing stock and approved suppliers
Training, inducting and developing team members
Ensuring food hygiene, Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures are followed
Requirements
Previous catering management or team leader experience
Food industry experience and/or relevant qualifications
Strong knowledge of catering service delivery
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Good IT skills
Understanding of safeguarding requirements
Relevant Health & Safety qualification, ideally IOSH
Cashless catering system experience desirableAn Enhanced DBS including a Child Barred List check will be required before starting.
