Hours: various shifts
We are looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant/Catering Assistant who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
Your Responsibilities:
Assist in all types of hot and cold food preparation, including special or therapeutic diets.
Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points Policy and Legislative Practices, maintaining clean and hygienic cooking processes.
Report equipment defects promptly and attend necessary training sessions.
Clean and store equipment, provisions, crockery, cutlery, and utensils in a safe and hygienic manner, following department schedules and specifications.
Your Day-to-Day:
Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals.
Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties.
Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room.
Wash utensils, dishes, and ensure appropriate storage.
Rotate stock and put away deliveries.
Maintain personal hygiene to comply with standards and food hygiene regulations.
Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment according to procedures.
Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
You Are:
Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting.
Holder of a food hygiene certificate with good personal hygiene standards.
Enthusiastic, keen to learn, and an active team member.
Polite and professional with a positive attitude.
An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels.
Diligent and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team, and under supervision.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
