Junior Sales Engineer

Shillito Executive Search is proud to be working on an exciting opportunity with an internationally recognised and diverse manufacturing company based in Sheffield.

Our client is looking to recruit a Junior Sales Engineer to join their team. The ideal Junior Sales Engineer will have a background in manufacturing, engineering, or science, and at least one year of sales experience. This role requires a strong understanding of technical drawings and the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to clients.

Junior Sales Engineer salary and Benefits:

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum

* 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays with the opportunity to buy or sell up to 5 holidays per year

Junior Sales Engineer Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.

Technical Communication: Interpret technical drawings and relay this information clearly and accurately to clients, ensuring their understanding of product specifications and applications.

Sales Strategy: Support the sales team in developing and implementing effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.

Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of our product offerings and stay updated on industry trends and advancements.

Proposal Development: Prepare and present detailed sales proposals, including technical specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines.

Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure the feasibility of proposed solutions and to resolve any technical issues that may arise.

Customer Support: Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance and support, addressing customer inquiries and resolving any concerns promptly.

Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and project statuses, and prepare regular sales reports for management review.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, or a related field.

* Minimum of 1 year of experience in sales, preferably in a technical or industrial environment.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and foster long-term relationships with clients.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software; experience with CAD software is a plus.

* Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events
