Junior Safety Engineer

Junior Safety Engineer position available with a leading Engineering organisation that operate in the UK Defence sector and are growing their safety team, this is your chance to get a position in a very important skillset that will always be in high demand and learn, learn learn !

You will assist in the production and delivery of safety artefacts to support defence contracts. As a Junior Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of safety projects to time, cost and quality.

Responsibilities

Undertake work, as directed by the Safety & Environmental Lead Engineer, as part of the safety and environmental team.
Assist in the production of safety artefacts following the guidance in a range of applicable standards.
Assist in the delivery of safety projects to time, cost and quality.
Follow the procedures in the company's Safety & Environmental Management System to the level of quality described in the Quality Management System.
Support Project Safety and Environmental Committees (PSEC) - produce agendas, meeting arrangements, minutes and assist with precursor hazard reviews.
Write Minutes from Safety Meetings extracting the key changes for updates to the Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs) and Product Safety Assessments.
Assist with the Hazard Management Process.
Update Safety Case reports and Product Safety Assessments to reflect changes identified in design updates or during safety meetings.
Support the writing of new Safety Case Reports and Product Safety Assessments.
Delivery of own aspects of project(s) to meet the client's needs and make the agreed level of contribution.
Ensure own aspects of projects are delivered within the client's boundary and make the agreed level of margin contribution.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience

A recognised technical qualification preferably in Engineering.
Effective communication skills with Line Management and clients.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good report writing skills.
Good communications.
Analysis of technical data.

For this position you must be eligible for UK Military Clearance (a UK Passport Holder)
