Description:

Our client is a leading housing association with offices throughout the UK and we are looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, based in Sheffield.

Office location: Sheffield

Salary: £30k - £36k pa + other benefits

Hybrid working

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key part in deliverying high quality projects that meet the needs of their communities.

Duties:

Collaborate closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor in overseeing the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion
Contribute to the preparation of detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, tender documentation, and contract documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Assist in the evaluation of tender submissions, conducting thorough analyses to support informed decision-making.
Participate in the contract administration process, including monitoring project progress, reviewing and evaluating variations, and preparing interim payment valuations.
Support the reconciliation and agreement of final accounts upon project completion, ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation.
Develop and maintain comprehensive cost plans, cash flow projections, and financial reports to present to senior management, facilitating informed decision-making and ensuring financial viability.
Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, attending site meetings and maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Contribute to value engineering exercises, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process optimization while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements:

A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle for travel across South Yorkshire and other locations as required
HNC / HND in Quantity Surveying or construction related subject
