Salary: £37,000 - £42,000 per annum

Our client is seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment, working alongside experienced project managers and senior quantity surveyors on a diverse range of construction projects.

The successful candidate will support the commercial management of projects from pre-contract through to final account, gaining valuable experience across all aspects of quantity surveying while contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality projects.

General Responsibilities

* Provide clear, accurate and timely commercial information, reports and advice to clients, project teams and senior management.

* Support Project Managers and senior commercial staff in the day-to-day management and successful delivery of projects.

* Ensure project deadlines are achieved and regularly report progress to senior team members.

* Prepare professional documentation and reports in line with company standards.

* Attend client, contractor and internal meetings, taking accurate minutes where required.

* Carry out site visits and inspections as part of project delivery.

Key Duties:

Working alongside senior members of the commercial team, responsibilities will include:

* Assisting with the preparation of monthly project cost reports and commercial updates.

* Preparing cost plans, feasibility studies, approximate estimates, Bills of Quantities, specifications and schedules of rates.

* Supporting procurement activities, including tender preparation, tender analysis and recommendations.

* Assisting with the preparation and administration of a range of construction contracts.

* Preparing interim valuations, assessing contractor claims, managing variations and assisting with final accounts.

* Maintaining and updating cost databases and benchmarking information.

* Supporting change control throughout both the pre-contract and post-contract stages.

* Assisting with the preparation and review of contract variations.

* Supporting financial reviews and commercial reporting.

* Preparing interim valuations throughout the lifecycle of projects.

* Assisting with the negotiation and agreement of final accounts.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have

* A degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.

* Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying role or a relevant placement year (desirable).

* A genuine desire to build a successful career within the construction industry.

* Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* A full UK driving licence is desirable due to occasional site visits.
