Junior Product Designer

Do you have experience working with SolidWorks or other CAD software? Do you have a degree in product design or a closely related subject and a desire to forge a career in the creative/concept stages of product development and having minimal involvement in the technical engineering? Can you show a capable and complete portfolio demonstrating sketching ability, a creative mindset and final product examples/visualisations?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a candidate that can answer yes to the above questions, an opportunity to be join a small close-knit team at one of the UK's globally established luxury home brands. You will be taught and have the opportunity to learn direct from an experienced product designer, as well as work with one of the company founders, and the right candidates will also benefit from career opportunities as the company expands over the next 5 years.

This small team is responsible for between 10 - 20 new ranges of interior home products a year, the products span a variety of materials from ceramics, metals and glass. As such any understanding of die-casting, injection moulding, glass blowing, metal fabrication would be an advantage, as would prototyping/3D printing to create working product samples.

On a day-to-day basis you will have the opportunity to:

Visualise and execute concepts under the direct guidance of the department head
Collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders to understand design needs
Research design both from existing concepts/products in sector and industry trends to help guide/inspire and ultimately help you form creations
Develop visualisations of products to aid discussions with members of the senior design teamIf you can tick a number of the below requirements, have relevant experience / qualifications and feel like you can add something to the team, then we would love to hear from you. But we must stress given the level of the role it will be your portfolio, and examples of previous work either for yourself, whilst employed or at university that will get you an interview. Provided you have the basic academic and technical requirements.
