Brook Street is thrilled to present a fantastic opportunity to work for the Ministry of Defence. A full-time position as Junior Executive Officer has become available in the Ministry of Defence, working under a Brigadier. This role is ideal for someone looking to support senior leadership while developing their administrative and organisational skills within a dynamic and essential government department.

Main Purpose of the Job: The Junior Executive Officer will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director, ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks and facilitating the Director's strategic initiatives. This supportive role requires someone who can manage complex diaries, handle administrative tasks, and communicate effectively both in writing and orally. The role demands the ability to work independently and use initiative to resolve issues proactively.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the Director's diary, scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings to ensure optimal use of time.
Handle administrative tasks including information management, email correspondence, and document preparation using Microsoft Office Suite.
Maintain the Director's calendar, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to organise events and meetings.
Communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, both within the Ministry and externally, ensuring the Director is kept informed of relevant issues.
Provide logistical support for events and meetings, including preparation of materials and booking of venues.
Assist with the planning and execution of moderately complex administrative projects.
Ensure all documentation and records are maintained accurately and securely.
Serve as the first point of contact for the Director, addressing queries and directing them as appropriate.
Provide support during the Director's absence, ensuring continuity of operations.Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Ability to work effectively within a small team and the wider Ministry of Defence.
High level of honesty and integrity.
Flexibility, excellent organisational skills, and time management abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to take initiative and work independently when necessary.Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Knowledge of the UK Armed Forces and Defence would be advantageous
Experience in event management.
Familiarity with UK culture and governmental operations.Job Details:

Hourly Rate: £14.71 per hour.
Working Hours: Full-time, 09:00-17:30.
Location: Amport House, Amport, Andover, SP11 8BG
Working Arrangement: Hybrid role with at least 60% on-site presence.
