We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias to join our client's established and highly professional Engineering Department. The main aim of this role is to carry out maintenance activities to maximise the reliability, efficiency, and safety of production equipment. The successful candidate will also be involved in continuous improvement projects to benefit both internal and external customers.

Day to Day of the Junior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role:

Perform preventative maintenance tasks on critical plant items to ensure maximum reliability.
Conduct repairs and further improvements to equipment to maximise effectiveness.
Participate in project work, including installations of new equipment and refurbishment projects.
Implement equipment modifications and improvements to meet changing production requirements.
Adhere to agreed safety standards and procedures in all work activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Junior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

Apprenticeship served in mechanical engineering with recognised general engineering qualifications.
Broad-based general engineering workshop skills, including welding (MIG/MMA), machining, fabrication & sheet metal work, and general fault finding.
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, fans, and mechanical drives.
Preferably a background in maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment, with experience in Paper Converting or printing being an advantage.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, with strong problem-solving skills.
Must be safety conscious, conscientious, reliable, adaptable, and able to work under pressure without supervision.
