A leading M&E contractor based in Chelmsford is looking to recruit a motivated and ambitious Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the building services industry, working alongside experienced estimators on a wide range of high-profile commercial projects valued up to £3 million. Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors, including:
• Corporate office spaces.
• Arts & leisure facilities.
• Education.
• Healthcare.
• MOD projects.
As a Junior Mechanical Estimator, you will support the estimating team with the preparation of competitive tenders for mechanical building services projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with the preparation of detailed mechanical estimates and cost plans.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Supporting the production of tender submissions and take-offs.
• Liaising with internal departments, clients and suppliers.
• Assisting with project handovers to delivery teams.
• Developing knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
Requirements
• Some previous exposure to estimating, mechanical building services or construction (placement experience considered).
• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or Construction preferred.
• Strong numerical and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.
