Junior Mechanical Design Engineer
Norfolk

ISQ Recruitment is excited to work with a renowned client based in Norfolk, seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

Innovate and implement mechanical solutions that enhance system performance while ensuring cost efficiency.
Generate detailed and accurate 3D CAD engineering drawings.
Work collaboratively with production teams and suppliers, optimizing designs for assembly (DFA) and manufacturing (DFM).
Proactively address and troubleshoot design and assembly issues.
Coordinate the procurement of prototype components essential for further development and testing.
Engage in critical evaluation during design reviews, participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and contribute to value engineering efforts.  
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
Demonstrable experience in mechanical component design, with a preference for backgrounds in the automotive industry.
Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and drafting, particularly with ProE Creo.
Familiarity with structural simulation tools and DFMEA methodologies.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical prowess.
Strong communication skills and adeptness at teamwork. Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of 3D CAD software, BS8888 drawing standards, and geometric tolerances.
Experience with simulation tools such as Altair Sim Solid, Sim Lab, Altair CFD, and Simulink.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). Additional Requirements:

Due to our client's location in Norfolk, owning a car is necessary for commuting purposes.
