The Role

As a Utilities Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of key site services that keep production running safely and efficiently.

Steam generation and distribution
Water treatment systems
HVAC and temperature control systems
Compressed air systems
Cooling towers
Air handling units
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Effluent treatment and environmental systems
Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, you'll be involved in maintenance, fault finding, inspections, monitoring activities and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical utility systems across site
Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities
Conduct routine inspections and monitoring checks
Assist with fault finding, breakdown response and repairs
Support water treatment, chemical dosing and effluent processes
Operate and monitor plant equipment in line with site procedures
Help ensure utility services consistently meet production demands
Complete maintenance records, inspections and compliance documentation
Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve site performance
Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and housekeeping

You'll ideally have:

NVQ Level 3 or a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
A strong commitment to health and safety
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with people across the business
Strong organisation and time management skills
A willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges
