Junior Maintenance Engineer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Maintenance Engineer at a manufacturing company based in Waldron, East Sussex.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and be eager to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while supporting machine breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.
Working hours: 8am – 4pm with a half-hour lunch break and two 10-minute breaks per day.
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000
Location: Waldron, East Sussex (own transport essential due to location)
Responsibilities:
Shadowing Production Manager: Work closely with the Production Manager to shadow their activities and gain insights into maintenance leadership responsibilities and best practices.
Supporting Production Manager: Assist the Production Manager in coordinating maintenance activities, prioritising tasks, and ensuring the efficient deployment of resources.
Machine Breakdown Support: Provide timely support for machine breakdowns to minimise downtime and ensure the smooth operation of production processes.
Mechanical Repairs and Maintenance: Execute mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks on production machinery and equipment to maintain optimal performance levels.
Reactive, Preventative, and Planned Maintenance: Participate in reactive maintenance activities to address immediate issues, as well as perform preventative and planned maintenance tasks to prevent future breakdowns and enhance equipment reliability.
Regular Inspections: Conduct regular inspections on production machinery and equipment to identify potential faults or areas for improvement.
Maintenance Records: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities performed, including repairs, inspections, and equipment conditions.
Fault Identification and Rectification: Efficiently identify and rectify faults in machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and optimize productivity levels. Job Requirements:
Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable.
Proficient in both electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues effectively.
Familiarity with reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance practices.
Ability to conduct thorough inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential faults or areas for improvement.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to fault identification and rectification.Capable of working collaboratively within a team environment to achieve common goals.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and switch gears easily
Forklift Truck License (desirable but not essential)
