Junior Logistics Manager – Major Construction Project
Location: E16
Duration: 2 Year Project
Rate: £20.00-£21.00 p/h, overtime and weekend available
Romax Solutions are currently seeking a Junior Logistics Manager to take full ownership of site logistics on a large and complex construction project in London. This role is suited to a confident and highly experienced professional with a proven background in managing logistics on major UK developments, including multi-storey and high-value schemes. You will play a critical role in maintaining programme, safety and efficiency across a busy site environment, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers and subcontractors. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a Grade A Tier 1 client on a high-profile and prestigious project in London.
Job Purpose
To support the Logistics Manager and wider site management team with the safe and efficient coordination of site logistics, deliveries, materials, plant, vehicles and personnel. The role involves helping maintain an organised, safe and productive site environment while developing practical experience in logistics management.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Logistics Manager with the day-to-day running of site logistics.
Coordinate and monitor deliveries, collections and vehicle movements.
Assist with delivery booking and scheduling to ensure efficient site operations.
Support the safe movement of vehicles, plant, materials and pedestrians around site.
Undertake Traffic Marshall duties and direct vehicles safely where required.
Assist with loading and unloading operations and ensure materials are stored safely.
Monitor site access, delivery areas, storage areas and logistics routes.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, delivery drivers and site personnel.
Help maintain clear access routes, walkways and working areas.
Assist in ensuring logistics activities comply with site rules, RAMS and health & safety requirements.
Report hazards, damaged materials, unsafe conditions or logistical issues to the Logistics Manager/Site Manager.
Maintain delivery records, site logs and relevant logistics documentation.
Assist with site inductions and communicate site logistics requirements to contractors and visitors.
Support the implementation of site logistics plans and traffic management arrangements.
Assist with site housekeeping and maintaining a clean and organised working environment.
Attend site coordination meetings where required.
Provide First Aid assistance within the limits of training when required.
Undertake Fire Marshal/Fire Warden responsibilities and support emergency procedures.
Support the Logistics Manager during busy delivery periods and assist with resolving logistical issues.
Take on increasing responsibility for logistics coordination as experience and competence develop.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience within construction, site logistics or a similar environment.
* Understanding of construction site health and safety requirements.
* Good organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
* Proactive approach to identifying and resolving logistical issues.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Willingness to learn and develop towards a senior logistics management role.
* Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety.
